Hosted-build field notes: 22 October 2026

We inspected this hosted project and made three fresh keyboard practice starts in Chromium. The opening device and Shadow Mantle prompts are part of the game, not the website loader. We reached attacks and tested directional input, but did not complete the battle or verify a full death-and-respawn route. The images in our practice guide are actual session captures; source inspection is not presented as a completed run.

For a repeatable opening routine, use our Roaring Knight practice guide . It separates device setup, party commands and movement practice from the original-game story notes below.

Our first keyboard practice start: moving toward a boundary reduced the remaining escape space. This is an observation, not a safe-coordinate diagram.

Quick start

Press Play to load the frame, then start the packaged player and follow the device prompt. A loaded frame is not a running battle. Click inside the game if keyboard focus is lost.

The first prompt is PC or Mobile. Z or a tap confirms it. The fight can be played with a keyboard either way, and that is the reliable setup. Movement is the arrow keys or WASD. Z or Space confirms, and holding Z slows the soul. The author describes holding Select just after death to respawn; our current playtest did not verify that recovery path.

The download is about 56 MB. On a slow connection, wait for the battle to appear before you click in. The author warns that the first appearance of an attack can stutter; this is not a measured performance guarantee for every browser.

Who the Roaring Knight is

The Roaring Knight is the Chapter 3 boss of Deltarune, fought in the Cold Place after the battle with Tenna. The Knight is the one holding the Black Knife.

What a win and a loss do

Losing does not send you to a normal game over. The chapter continues. Bringing the Knight down far enough is still not a normal victory: the Knight gets back up, Susie and Ralsei are swooned, and the scene goes on. A shard from the sword is the BlackShard. The fight does not show who is under the helmet.

How the attacks come

In Deltarune the opening order is Stars, Tracking Swords, Box Splitter, Sword Tunnel, and Rotating Slash, then harder versions of those. Stars and Rotating Slash hit the whole party. Tracking Swords and Box Splitter aim extra hits at whoever is wearing the Shadow Mantle. Sword Tunnel gives almost no invincibility. After 1460 damage, with the Knight under 80% HP, the fight charges and then uses the full-screen attack called Roaring. One more hit after that ends it.

The original fight ends only by attacking. Hold Breath speeds the soul up for the rest of the battle. Susie and Ralsei's talk actions do nothing. Holding Cancel while you move slows the soul to half speed. Timed Rude Busters, with confirm pressed just before the hit, are the damage route, while Kris and Ralsei defend to build TP.

This remake is the same battle with unused attacks added in, and Gangstermango says the attacks are harder. Hold Breath here also raises invincibility, the TP you get from grazing, and your speed, and it stacks if Susie or Ralsei picks their S or R action. You slow the soul by holding Z, not Cancel.

Tips from the project

These are Gangstermango's tips for this remake.

  1. Choose the Shadow Mantle holder on purpose. Susie has the most HP. Kris stays in front, so a revive can bring Susie and Ralsei back and still leave two turns. Ralsei keeps Heal Prayer, which revives a downed ally for 19% TP. ReviveMints and ReviveDust run out if the mantle is on Susie or Kris.
  2. If all three attack and every hit is perfect, you get a large TP and damage boost.
  3. Defending gives TP. If you are getting hit, defend until Ralsei can cast a full defense spell. That spell blocks 7 hits.
  4. A no-hit turn, which they call flawlessing, gives TP and HP. A flawless boost spell triples those gains and can end the fight quickly.
  5. Use Rude Buster or X-Slash when you can. The Knight has a lot of HP.
  6. Hold Breath on Kris raises invincibility, graze TP, and speed. It stacks with Susie or Ralsei's S or R action, which helps if you are getting hit.

Gangstermango's best clear at the time of the instructions was 7 hits and 13 turns. They also say a no-hit clear is possible. The Shadow Mantle itself is Chapter 3 armor from the Sword Route. Anyone except Noelle can wear it, and it cuts the Knight's Dark and Star damage. In the original battle the notes prefer it on Kris, because Susie is the main damage dealer and can be swooned, while Kris is downed instead.

How to dodge

In the real fight the order is fixed. Phases 1, 2, and 3 each run the same five attacks: stars, tracking swords, the box splitter, the sword tunnel, then the rotating slash. The line on screen names the next one. Phase 3 keeps repeating until the Knight drops under 80% HP. Phase 4 is a rotating-slash variant, a free turn while the Knight charges, and then the full-screen Roaring.

  • Stars: sit in a wide gap. The white beams show where the shards will fly, and only the bright centre of a star can hit you. Fading pieces are forgiving. In the third version each star splits, turns red, and homes in one shard at a time. For TP, hug the right edge early and graze before they spread.
  • Tracking swords: a blade locks from one of eight directions, turns red, freezes, then slashes. They fire in the order they appeared, so keep that order. A diagonal can be dodged with a plain step if you are not standing on it. The second version adds a ring that shrinks and pushes you toward the walls.
  • Box splitter: the board is cut and diamonds spray from the cut. The cleave is about two thirds of your max HP, and it will not drop you below 1. In the second version, sit near a corner without stuffing yourself into it. The third version cuts on a diagonal out of the middle. Grazing the middle slash pays more TP than grazing the diamonds.
  • Sword tunnel: this is the deadliest one, because you get almost no invincibility. Watch the gap, not the swords. Small moves, and stay on the right side of the box. At the end the swords fly along red warning lines. The second version rotates counter-clockwise. The third gap is narrower.
  • Rotating slash: the lines are centred on where you were when the attack started. Pick one direction, then make small corrections near the end. Before the third version's spiral, drift back toward the middle.

Roaring fills the screen and puts the Knight in the centre. Stars spiral out, drift back, and burst six ways. A slash down the middle ends it. Defense and the DEFEND command do nothing here. After that the Knight drops its guard, and any hit ends the battle. In the real fight you only win by attacking. Holding Cancel slows the soul to half speed. Hold Breath speeds the soul for the rest of the battle.

The original-game sequence above is context, not our demonstrated route through this remake. This remake slows the soul when you hold Z, not Cancel. Gangstermango says the first time an attack appears it can stutter, and that the project adds unused attacks. Arrows or WASD move. Z or Space confirms.

FAQ

Is this Roaring Knight fight simulator free?

Yes. It's free to play in your browser. Gangstermango shared the Scratch project for free. Press Play to start. There is no installer.

Can I play it online without a download?

Yes. It runs in the browser after you press Play. The fight is about 56 MB, so the browser still has to fetch it once. That transfer starts when you press Play.

Is it unblocked?

This is a normal website. A school or office filter can still block roaringknightfight.com, or cdn.roaringknightfight.com, which is where the fight loads after you press Play.

Does it work on a phone or a Chromebook?

The page fits a phone. At the start the fight asks PC or Mobile, and a tap can confirm that choice. The battle is built for a keyboard: arrows or WASD, and Z. If the Mobile choice does not respond, use a keyboard. A Chromebook can open the page and play with its keyboard.

Who made the fight?

Gangstermango made the FULL Roaring Knight remake. Toby Fox made Deltarune. Roaring Knight Fight is a fan site and is not affiliated with either of them.

How do you dodge the Roaring Knight's sword tunnel?

For the original-game tunnel, watch the gap and use short corrections; its invincibility behavior is not a measurement of this package. In this remake, hold Z to slow the soul. We reached tunnel attacks in practice but have not demonstrated a complete safe route.
